The Ladies Behind the Rusty Spur Vendors Market

OWNERS

Heather & Jody have been friends for over 10 years. They got to know each other as co-workers at a structural steel company, but the call of entrepreneurship has always been strong in these two.

Heather started an equestrian tack and supply business in 2014, as a way to offer affordable tack and various other supplies to the equine community. At this time she had 5 horses of her own and knew all to well the costs associated with with such a hobby could be astronomical. As well as in her area the majority of the tack supply shops were geared to an English rider, making it next to impossible for a western rider, such as herself, to find local, affordable tack for her discipline.

Jody has always been crafty, and it started early!! As a kid she always had access to a plethora of crafting supplies, and boy did she use them. This lead her to always needing a creative outlet in her life. She loves being crafty, event planning, and giving new life to old things. She is no stranger to market life, she even had her custom designed pieces in one of the local O.G craft stores back the early 2000's. When that market closed the thought of having a market like that became insatiable and never went away.

Fast forward to 2019, Heather had been approached to start selling her tack supplies at a brick and mortar location. This location had a little extra space, so Heather thought, "Let's see if we can't do a little more with this." She asked Jody if she wanted to join her and sell some of her repurposed/refinished furniture and crafts. They joined forces that day and The Rusty Spur Vendors Market was born!!!!
